Things I love Monday

I haven't been able to stay up and stay focus all night for a while. Despite my many attempts to stay up last semester, I kept falling asleep and ended up never make it through the night. Since I actually finished more work than I planned, I am giving myself a pat in the back and a moment for myself (I can't really go home before the sun rises anyway).

I have had an extremely unproductive weekend during which I basically had no motivation to do anything. I was getting scared for a moment since I technically was binge sleeping all weekend. I mean, who doesn't like to sleep in and such, but for me to not be able to get up before noon is somewhat ridiculous. I always feel terrible if I wake up any time after 10am because I feel like I have wasted so much time of the day sleeping. I was just so worn out after the two exams and The Vagina Monologues that by the time Sunday came around, I just wanted to do nothing.

Speaking of TVM, I can't believe this was the last show of my undergraduate career, and I have doubts that I would ever be involved in the show again. Despite lots of dramas, and problems, we put together a kick-ass show, as always. I was rather unmotivated the entire semester and had to drag myself to rehearsal every week. I guess we were too busy stressed out about little organizational details we lost sight of what we were trying to fight for. TVM has always meant so much to me and I am so glad that I have never failed to be a part of it, and put all my efforts into it. I was feeling slightly down that my closest friends here didn't come out to support but I guess it didn't really matter.

Compared to the Sunday during which I did nothing, I accomplished a lot today, despite it being a Monday. I was slightly overwhelmed with the amount of work I have to do for Sigma and was freaking out. I was all tensed and irritated when I was asked "What was one thing that make you happy today?" and that one question made me realize that things are not at all that bad. So I'm making a list of things I love Monday, or Saturday, or Sunday, or all days.
  • I am one step closer to one thing that I have been doing for Sigma ever since I joined. Of course it is still in the preliminary planning stage, and I have lots of meetings and writing to do, but if I can make this happen, it'd be one of my most significant accomplishments.
  • I should appreciate the friends that I have and the connections that I have made much more. I was being stuck and had no idea how to make this bar party happen, a friend stepped in and helped me out so much that all I need to do from now on is just making a decision (skip all the phone calls and logistic talks). Or when I don't even have to ask twice and people are willing to help me out with other things.
  • Encouraging messages throughout my super thick stack of notes that I have to memorize by tomorrow. I almost gave up on studying when I saw the note and it actually kept me going.

  • Really really really good indie music
  • Really big cups of tea
  • Checking off all the things on my to-do list + check off things for the next day too
  • Homemade waffles + whipped cream + chocolate ice cream + blueberries at midnight
  • Actually crying my eyes out watching a movie =.=
  • Long hot showers
  • Falling asleep next to someone who keeps me warm
  • Extremely good workouts at the gym
  • When my best guy friend and I both agree that he knows me best
  • People who give me confidence and make me feel good about myself
  • Great conversations with my mom
  • Looking at apartments ~~~ and thinking about adopting a cat, or a chinchilla
  • Cream cheese stuffed french toast at midnight
  • Realizing that sometimes going with the flow is not too bad of a thing, maybe
  • A really long list of things I love
Let's hope this week will be a good one too. I'll be [fairly] free after that exam on Thursday.

Things I love about you.

When I sit next to you, studying.
When we go grocery shopping.
At parties.
In the morning when I just wake up.
Or any random times when you feel like it.
I hate PDA, but you ignore it and do it anyway

Only because you get sick every other week, and when you're not sick, I am.
I always tell you I hate seeing you when either of us are sick because it's more torture for me. Regardless, you always visit me when I'm sick.

 ... enough said

I hate pet names. You always use them anyway. You're the only one who can do it w/o making me frown.

Or whole week. You say the most random things and make no sense. It always take me a while to figure out what your messages and once I find out the meaning behind them, they make me smile.

And I tend to do this a lot, especially when I'm drunk ;) But that only means that you're the one guy that I can look up to and feel reliable enough to share my problems with.

Even when I'm sick in bed, just wake up,or look like a bum after sleepless nights in the library studying for my exams.

Whether it's 9pm or 4am, you rarely forget to text me before going to bed. The only exception would be when I'm right next to you ;)

"What else do you ask for?" is the question I usually get from my friends, and they always wonder what is wrong with me.

:)

I am not exactly the committed type. I like to keep my "relationships" low key so people don't gossip. But you never seem to be afraid to make it out there.

You always tell me "I'm busy, but I always have time for you" --> makes me appreciate every single time I get to see you so much more.

Yeah ... I don't get you a lot of the time, so I just tell you that you're weird.

Remember that time at the mall when you said "Wow, I feel special, 'cause I'm holding your hand?"

I hated it cuz you're "making it so obvious" but the things you post most of the time make me smile, so I can't complain.

So adorable, lol.

I love it that I can talk to you about everything and you would do the same, about EVERYTHING. It makes me feel like I can trust you with whatever we have and don't have to worry about anything else.We never have to play the "dating game" 'cause we both agree that it is too much work.

And I never expect any other guys to do the same. I might have taken it for granted though, cuz sometimes I get upset when you don't, but you rarely forget.

We'll be at different parties, and you would text me "Can I come see you?" then you will complain later "See? I left my party early. See how much I sacrifice?"

Well, not the "I love you" part (thanks God), but you do randomly call me just to tell me that you're going to bed :)

and unexpected visits.

When I'm studying and you're working right next to me, you keep me even more focused on my studying. Or when we're driving in your car, listening to your favorite songs.

while I freak out about this

Since you hate cuddling while sleeping, so you consider this as a "make up" for the entire night, lol.

With all these things combined, and many more that I might have forgotten, you gave me the sweetest and most enjoyable time, especially when I was stressed and depressed. You taught me how to be motivated, and how to keep a positive attitude toward everything. It may not necessarily be love, since I'm not committed and you are looking for something different, but these are definitely things that come up in my mind when I think about you, and I love them.

I hate that I can only get emails from you now, and that I can't text you random texts throughout the day. You hate knowing that I'm not 10 minutes away where you can surprise me and tell me to come down and open the door.

Although we still ask each other about our days, I know we are moving on with our lives. Or at least I know am trying to.

Things I love Thursday

Inspired by Gala Darling, my favorite blogger and fashionista.

It's winter. The temperature hits single digits. For us college students, it means the sufferings of painful and sleepless final weeks (and the tragedy of checking your GPA afterward). It's the time when everyone need the extra carbohydrate in those colorful sugar cookies and caramel fudge, and the extra warmth of a knitted scarf or the fire place as mood elevators.

There are plenty of positive things out there. The holiday is around the corner, I mean, literally, since it's 11:14pm of Dec 23rd when I'm writing this. The weather is fur-reezing. But it's gorgeous outside, I'm telling you. My favorite thing to do (or favorite idea in my mind) is to strut (yes, I said "strut") down the street in my fur boots and my best outfit, to enjoy the Christmas lights and decorations, the shop windows, smell the warmth of hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls, and watch the looks on people faces. Random fact: did you know that in France, window-shopping is called “léche-vitrines”, literally, “window-licking”?

Winter is the best time to eat Phở, or Korean food (though I agree I'm would be up for it anytime of the year). It makes it seem somewhat acceptable to wear pj shorts with leg warmers all the time (it's just me, I know). It means that if you just want to stay in bed and read a novel, you’re not an antisocial freak out of a sudden, not at al.

The cold presents us all with the perfect opportunity to get a little closer than usual to whoever we’ve had a flirtatious eye on, too, and a little snuggling time doesn't hurt anyone ;)

So, little things that made me smile:

♥ Fresh baked cookies and cupcakes, coming straight up from the oven ♥ The yellow shade of twinkling Christmas light every time I come back to my room ♥ Moonlight shadow room refreshener and the bed that is right next to the heater ♥ Old pictures on the wall ♥ My sister and my mom, who tell me random things the moment she picks up the phone ♥ Friends, who texted me and asked if I was ok cuz of the cold weather ♥ A selection of lovely shower product and the smell of your body when you just came out of the shower ;) ♥ Buying gifts for people and find out that they absolutely adore them ♥ Smell of new shoes, and take the tag of a new scarf ♥ Damien Rice ♥ Cold Guinness beer + a PSP with FF Crisis Core ♥ Amazing soup for dinner ♥ Waking up at noon ♥ Food Network magazine with the special Christmas baking section ♥ VOGUE ♥ Open the door to a surprise visit ♥ Brunch in bed, delivered (or just the idea of them) - pretty decadent and fabulous ♥ Feeling like my face & fingers had been BURNED by the cold this morning & just deciding not to leave the room again today! ♥ Turn in your last final ♥ Stockings & heels & toast & coffee, no? ♥ Newly done nails ♥ Kate Spade's Things We Love book ♥ Flurries and snow that glitters ♥ Wearing your favorite scarf ♥ Wearing someone's else giant sweatshirt ;) ♥ Sniff at the perfume smell on yourself (or somebody else does) ♥ Clothes from the dryer ♥ Cuddling and snuggling ♥ Adorable messages on Facebook from your best friends ♥ Cute and flirty text messages ♥ Watch Elf ♥ See presents under a Christmas tree ♥ Drive through dark, snowy road to reach amazing houses with crazy decoration that lit up the entire area ♥ Sex and The City re-watch (for the 10 millionth time) ♥ Drawing, painting, making Christmas cards ♥ Random chat convos ♥ Random creative blogs ♥ Amazing artwork ♥ Chanel Wish facebook application ♥ Christian Louboutin's signature red sole ♥ An amazing long hot bath ♥

Hmmmm, seems like I can keep that smile up on my face all winter huh? Other than that, just relaxing my mind, keep it positive and keep it real.

Stay warm and stay cozy. Make the most out of sunshine for those who get it.

Love,

Az
