Andrew Matthews wrote about how life changes when we change, about how to "Follow Your Heart" and "Being Happy". Those are best sellers. Published in 1991, and almost two decades later, people still hovering over his books, in hundreds on languages, hoping to make a change to themselves, and thus, to their lives.
However, sometimes, I truly, whole-heartedly think that it is better for certain things to remain unchanged, to stay the way the have always been. Those days gone by, that carefree time when we still believed in the most beautiful and idealistic things in the world, when we have not been crushed by the reality of society and of humanity.
Sometimes, when I returned to the places, and wished that I was not living the memories, but in the present itself. Sometimes, even when I live in the moment, knowing that it will pass by and soon become memories, I wish I could hang on to them, for a while.
It would be childish of us to deny that our lives were not changing. But for these days, these nights, none of us were going anywhere. That's the thing about really good friends and a really great city.
